Independent Health Complaints Advocacy
What is Independent Health Complaints Advocacy?
Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCA) supports people who wish to make a complaint about NHS treatment or services. An advocate helps you understand the complaints process, assists you in putting your complaint together, and supports you at meetings or hearings. The service is entirely free and independent from the NHS.

An Independent Health Complaints Advocate can take the pressure off by helping you articulate your concerns clearly, ensuring that your complaint is taken seriously, and supporting you through every stage of the process, from the initial complaint right through to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman if necessary.
