Hidden Hearing Disabilities Sunflower Lanyards
Updated: Aug 20, 2021
Our West Berkshire Learning Disability Partnership Board were delighted to receive money from Greenham Trust's special COVID19 fund to buy some Hidden Disabilities sunflower lanyards. Greenham Trust agreed that it would be a good idea for adults with a learning disability to be able to wear a Hidden Disabilities sunflower lanyard to help people help them especially right now.
Thanks to the fund, The West Berkshire Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB) will be giving out The Hidden Disabilities sunflower lanyards to adults with a learning disability who would like to wear one in. The LDPB team are working hard to make sure that sunflower lanyards are delivered to all of the different groups across #WestBerkshire who support people with a Learning Disability including West Berkshire Mencap and The Yume Project.
Wearing a Hidden Disabilities sunflower lanyard lets people know that you might need a little bit of understanding, help and support while out and about. We would like to say thank you to Greenham Trust for funding the sunflower lanyards for us.
One of our volunteers, Debbie, who wears a sunflower lanyard said, "Sometimes you need a little help without too much attention. I wore the sunflower lanyard and the staff in the supermarket couldn't have been more supportive".
