Caring for Plymouth Thank you Badge Awarded to Devon Team
Updated: Aug 20, 2021
Our #Devon team were delighted and honoured to receive a letter of thanks along with 'Caring for Plymouth' badges, presented to them by Craig McCardle, Director of Commissioning Plymouth City Council (Official). The badge was awarded to the team for their amazing efforts in supporting Age UK Plymouth (as part of the Caring for Plymouth initiative) during lockdown. During that period, our advocates and volunteers joined a helpline for vulnerable people in the city providing 364hrs of support and taking 1300 calls. The letter, from Councillor Kate Taylor (Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care), and badge was presented to Kevin Marsh (Supervising Advocate) - (pictured with Craig McCardle).
In her letter of thanks, Kate Taylor says;
"It is thanks to your sacrifices and services to the people of Plymouth during the pandemic that we continue to be a Caring Plymouth that looks after and supports our citizens. As an acknowledgement to you and the thousands of caring staff that have and continue to work on the frontline to support the country through the pandemic, we would like to present you with this Caring for Plymouth Thank You badge as an emblem and a tribute to the profound respect and pride you have earned from your city.”
